Hampton Inn & Suites Baton Rouge Downtown

My husband, my 2 teens and I have just stayed for 1 night in this hotel. It is will well located in downtown Baton Rouge near restaurants and bars. The staff was very helpful. We would like to thank Willemina in charge of Breakfast . She was amazing, and provided an outstanding service. She was very helpful, professional and kind. I will recommend 100% this hotel.

I unexpectedly spent my birthday weekend in Baton Rouge Christmas weekend. The ENTIRE STAFF WAS AMAZING! The view of the Mississippi River was the PERFECT icing on my birthday cake. I am so grateful for the kindness of the beautiful Food and Beverage Attendants (and the laughs) and the incredible ladies at the Front Desk. I will definitely be returning to this beautiful property for another birthday turnup. Thank you for the beautiful energy!

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing a hotel in the downtown area or near downtown. It is a relatively new hotel (8 years old, not sure if it was renovated or built, but it looks brand new). Staff was wonderful! The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. There are smaller businesses and restaurants in the area. They have a parking lot in front of the hotel for a fee but I am told it is usually always full, so there is another parking garage walking distance near the hotel and there is also a small fee to use it. The parking garage is well lit and easily accessible. The complimentary breakfast was free and absolutely delicious! I have told other family and friends about Hampton Downtown and to keep this hotel in mind for future hotel needs!

Yesterday Hampton hosted a Toys for Tots distribution! It was wonderful! A great gesture to the community and giving back for the holidays! Until a lady dressed in black was whom failed to identify herself started yelling extremely loud in the middle of a line of children and parents. She even screamed at a child that bumped into her, that she was shutting the toy drive down. When the Toys for Tots Marines asked what was going on she screamed and became irate as if she wanted to attack them. Telling all those precious babies that were excited for Christmas and to get toys to leave. This was totally unacceptable and unprofessional. The poor young lady that worked at the property the sales manager I know had to be embarrassed and torn apart. I later contacted the property to get the irate employee’s name and her name is Trameka Jackson, I was told she was the Assistant General Manager. I am sorry Hampton Inn and Suites by HILTON!!! would do something like this. Who would think an established hotel brand would allow this to happen. Shut down a toy drive and throw out a national organization!! It was cold and dark outside and this organization had to relocated a block away in an empty parking lot from the hotel lite by car headlights with children picking up toys off the ground!! I am a parent this broke my heart!

The check-in experience was pleasant and quick. The rooms are adequate and what you would expect from a Hampton Inn. Great sunset views from the 6th floor. When we checked in and took the elevator up to our room, the cleaning staff was not done vacuuming yet and had to run down to the first floor to grab a vacuum and come back up and vacuum the room while we waited. It wasn't too long of a wait (approx. 7 minutes), and I wasn't really bothered by it. However, for future improvement, I would recommend that the front desk staff confirms that the room is clean and 100% ready prior to assigning that room to a guest. One thing I did not like about this particular hotel was the fact that their water way WAAAYYY too soft. I literally could not wash the soap off my hands and could not rinse the shampoo / conditioner out of my hair. We had an accessible room, and the door was rather difficult to open, and the main shower head did not work the best. The front desk staff texted me a couple times during my stay asking if I needed anything and if we were satisfied with our visit once our stay was complete. They definitely get an A for effort, but to be completely honest, our experience was just average (B/B-).

This location is great. Amazing customer service from the time we walked in the door till the time we got in our car to leave.. Extremely clean and the breakfast was really good. No matter what employee we walked pass, they spoke and asked if we needed anything. Thank you all so much! We appreciate you loving what you do and we didn’t feel like it was just a job. Everyone really took good care of us.
